At Mojatu Foundation, we believe that sport has the power to bring people together, improve wellbeing, and transform lives. That is why we are excited to introduce the Women Racquets Sports in Nottingham programme β an initiative designed to support women through physical activity, wellbeing support, and community connection.
Supported by Sport England and funded through The National Lottery, this programme creates inclusive and welcoming opportunities for women from diverse communities to take part in tennis, badminton, yoga, fitness, and fun wellbeing sessions across Nottingham.
Running from March 2026 to January 2027, the programme is about much more than sport. It is about creating safe spaces where women feel confident, supported, and empowered to prioritise their health and wellbeing while building meaningful social connections.
Many women face barriers when it comes to participating in sports and fitness activities. Whether it is due to cultural expectations, confidence, limited access to facilities, or lack of inclusive opportunities, these challenges can prevent women from engaging in activities that support both physical and mental health. The Women Racquets Sports initiative aims to break down those barriers by creating accessible sessions where women of all backgrounds and abilities feel welcomed.

One of the most important aspects of this initiative is its focus on mental health and emotional wellbeing. At Mojatu Foundation, we recognise that wellbeing goes beyond physical fitness. Physical activity can play a major role in reducing stress, improving confidence, and helping individuals feel more connected to their communities. Through this programme, women are not only encouraged to stay active but are also given opportunities to build friendships, share experiences, and access supportive spaces that promote positive mental wellbeing.
The programme is proudly delivered in partnership with Angolan Women Voice Association UK and Sight Tech Foundation, organisations that share our commitment to community empowerment, inclusion, and wellbeing. Together, we are working to ensure that women from different communities across Nottingham can participate in activities that improve both health and quality of life.
Through initiatives like Women Racquets Sports in Nottingham, Mojatu Foundation continues to champion community-led programmes that create positive social impact while empowering individuals to thrive. We are proud to see women coming together, supporting one another, and embracing healthier lifestyles through sport and wellbeing activities.
This initiative is helping to build stronger, healthier, and more connected communities β one session at a time.
